FAQs

Where did your farm name come from?

We purchased our farm property in the spring of 2021 as a major fixer upper. Between remodeling our home and trying to get our farm going, we seemed to face hiccup after hiccup slowing us down. Our contractor made a joke about all the “hiccups” we had encountered and after that the name just stuck! It reminds me of the hard work and patience required to get to where we are and of the utter goodness of God to see us through the hard times and graciously allow us to enjoy the good times.

How can I purchase pasture raised lamb meat or chicken?

Send us a message or fill out a pre-order form and let us know what you are hoping to purchase! We will setup a time for farm pickup or meetup in town.

What makes your farm goods different than what I could get at the grocery store?

There is nothing like knowing your grower! You can expect nutrient-rich meats from well loved livestock and farm-fresh produce from our organic garden, straight from our farm to your table. Interested in a farm tour? Let’s connect and we’ll answer any questions you may have!

How do I cook lamb?

One of my favorite ways to cook lamb is searing a well seasoned lamb chop in a cast-iron skillet, much like you would a steak! Ground lamb can be cooked very similar to ground beef. We hope to offer a few lamb recipes soon!

What kind of sheep do you raise?

We raise a hardy breed of sheep called Katahdins which tolerate the heat and parasites better than other breeds. Katahdins are a type of hair sheep specifically raised for meat production, meaning they do not have to be sheared like wool sheep, they will simply grow a thicker coat in the winter and shed the thicker coat for the summer and they produce a higher quality and amount of meat than a wool sheep.

Do you sell anything else other than lamb meat and chickens?

Keep up to date with what we have available by signing up for our monthly newsletter! Occasionally, we will offer garden vegetables from our home garden, sourdough bread and other farm goods.
